Last updated: July 17, 2026. Phin Ratio (phinratio.com) is run by Paolo Gomez as a personal project. This policy describes what happens to your data when you use the site. It’s written in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, ask me.

What this site collects directly: nothing

Phin Ratio has no user accounts, no sign-ups, no comment sections, no contact forms, and no server-side database of visitors. The calculator runs entirely in your browser — your cup size, style, and strength choices are not sent anywhere or saved anywhere. If you email me, I see your email address and what you wrote, use it only to reply, and never share or sell it.

Third-party services

Google AdSense (advertising)

The site shows a small number of ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure their performance, and — where you’ve allowed it — personalize them based on your visits to this and other sites. Depending on your region and consent choices, ads may instead be non-personalized, which use cookies only for frequency capping, reporting, and fraud prevention.

The calculator and guides work identically whatever you choose.

Vercel Analytics (traffic measurement)

The site uses Vercel Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It is a privacy-focused, aggregate tool: it does not use cookies and does not track you across other sites. I see totals like “this many people read the grind guide,” never individual profiles.

Ko-fi (donations)

The footer includes a Ko-fi button for optional donations. The button script is loaded from Ko-fi, and if you click through, you’re on ko-fi.com under Ko-fi’s privacy policy. Any donation happens entirely on their platform — this site never sees your payment details.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like essentially all web hosts, Vercel’s infrastructure processes standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect against abuse, per Vercel’s privacy policy. I don’t use this data to identify visitors.

Your choices, in one place

  • Block or clear cookies in your browser — the whole site keeps working.
  • Turn off ad personalization in Google ad settings (link above).
  • Use an ad blocker if you prefer; the calculator doesn’t mind.
  • Email me via the contact page with any privacy question or request, including anything about data in emails you’ve sent me.

Children

The site is a coffee-brewing reference, not directed at children, and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If the site ever adds a service that touches your data, this page will be updated and the date at the top changed before the change goes live.
